Datum: 1.2.2009

AllGreen Energy, a Bangalore-based renewable energy company, will launch 10 biomass-based energy projects in the next two to three years. The first three will be launched by March 2010 in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh. Each plant is expected to produce 6.5 MW, and the total output in two to three years will be 65 MW.

Biomass gasification technology will be adapted for the plants. The patented process utilizes sources like lantana, coconut husk, coir, etc. GE Jenbacherm which will provide engines for these plants, has experience operating this technology. Biomass will be procured from multiple sources including biomass plantations, agricultural farms and post-harvest processing industries.
