In Silico Biology is a successful attempt to bridge the gap between scientific journals which focus either on accumulating more data from elaborate experimental approaches, or on presenting new algorithms for the interpretation of these data. Since both communities do not interact much with each other, neither the experimental nor the computational biologists really apply the theoretical tools to that extent which would be possible and desirable to achieve that progress of research which is already feasible. The major focus of In Silico Biology is on the data acquisition, development, and applications of theoretical / mathematical / computational tools onto biological systems rather than on the description of new algorithms.
