Faculty of Agronomy
Together with Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Faculty of Agronomy makes the oldest faculty at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry (MUAF) in Brno. It is a direct successor of the Department of Agriculture constituted at the establishment of the university. New fields of study and specializations are constantly being set up at the faculty. Phytotechnics and zootechnics persist until now, horticulture and orchard management and landscaping were singled out and came under the Faculty of Horticulture; amelioration field of study ceased to exist. New specializations - animal breeding and fodder management, were constituted at the Faculty of Agronomy. Fishery has a long tradition at the university because it is the only specialization from the original ones that remains to the present days.
