As you are well aware, vaccinology has moved away from trial-and-error approaches towards rational developmental strategies. Vaccinology has become a highly interdisciplinary field comprising immunology, molecular genetics, cell biology and biochemistry. Complementary to these aspects of basic science, applied issues such as clinical trials, as well as regulatory and safety issues, are of equal importance.We are proud that 48 outstanding experts in various fields of vaccinology have accepted our invitation to deliver state of the art lectures. This congress promises to be highly exciting, covering such an extraordinary wide range of vaccinology. Three days full of lectures, accompanied by poster presentations of your own most recent work, will make the congress the forum of modern vaccinology in 2005.
