Date: 16.5.2013
On 22 May 2013 there will be signed a historic agreement concerning cooperation between Polish Biotech Association (PBA) and the Hungarian Biotechnology Association (HBA - Magyar Biotechnológiai Szövetség). This will be an important step in the development process of biotechnology and life science sector as a whole, not only in Poland and Hungary, but in the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).
Biotechnology is today one of the fastest growing world economy sectors that brings every year a double-digit growth. The signing of an agreement between the Polish and Hungarian organization is a clear indication of the fact that the markets of Central and Eastern Europe got mature enough to compete in this dynamic global market. Not surprising is then the presence of government representatives of the two countries: Mrs Grażyna Henclewska, Undersecretary of State at the Polish Ministry of Economy to endorse the agreement and Mr Cséfalvay Zoltán Hungarian Minister of State in the Ministry of National Economy.
- It is noticeable that during BioForum 2013 such a significant cooperation agreement will be signed by both biotechnological associations. I hope that we will reach synergy effect, which will result in positive impulse for development of whole CEE bioregion – said Tadeusz Pietrucha, Ph. D., BioForum organizer and president of PBA.
On the behalf of HBA cooperation agreement will be signed by Erno Duda, president of HBA. PBA will be represented by Tadeusz Pietrucha, its president. Ceremony is going to take place in Corinthia Hotel in Budapest (Erzsébet körút 43-49, Budapest H-1073) on 22nd May, 2013 during BioForum 2013 opening ceremony.
