Biotechnology is one of the most rapidly expanding areas of research within the life sciences.
Research into living organisms and their products for commercial purposes has developed at a rapid pace also in the Czech Republic.
The only biotech convention in the Central Europe - BIOTEC 2007 was held 16. - 19. October 2007 at Brno Exhibition Centre as an integral part of the International HOSPIMedica Fair following the success of the first of its series in 2006.
BIOTEC 2007 presented the key projects in the biomedical and biotechnology research conducted in the Czech Republic and abroad, introduced this dynamically developing field to both research and general public, and highlighted the Czech Republic as the right place for biotechnology development at the same time.
BIOTEC 2007 comprised two parts:
Conference Gate2Biotech
Conference Gate2Biotech was held 17. October 2007 in Press Center, Hall E, and focused on the top projects of biomedical and biotechnology research conducted in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The conference programme featured the project of the Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics by the project leader Eric D. Wieben. The Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics is a unique collaborative venture among the Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota, and State of Minnesota. The Partnership seeks to position Minnesota as a world leader in biotechnology and medical genomics applications that will result in important new medical discoveries, thereby improving health care for patients and supporting the development of new business and jobs in Minnesota.
The conference theme: Opportunities for Transatlantic Collaboration in Biomedical and Biotech Research and advanced Technology Transfer
Show incubator
