Product Engineer

Type of job: full-time

* Technical support and co-ordination for the successful specification qualification and production launch of gasoline wastegate turbocharger electric actuators
Description

* Ability to work in a small team initially under the guidance of a senior engineer. Actively contribute to drive the HWL engineering design and release procedure contained in PEP (Product Excellence Process). Participate in technical meetings with suppliers. Monitor qualification testing at suppliers and/or customers and report on progress and issues
* Integrate with the wider globally based S&A engineering team, and with the functions of purchasing, supplier quality, product assurance, programm management, manufacturing et al.
* As necessary conduct practical test within HWL for post test analysis and/or basic actuator performance testing and support the development of engineering tools (control box for field investigations etc)
* Technical support for the successful integration and use of electric actuators • Participate in technical meetings with the internal customers and contribute to the turbocharger level integration work (FMEA, risk assessments, test plans etc). Convert internal and external customer needs in to Honeywell engineering and product specifications.
* Participate in technical meetings with the internal customers teams and OEMs to explain the technology and support the OEM in the engine level integration (control logic, product description etc)
* Provide technical support and training to Application Engineering and plant manufacturing processess.
* Cost reduction activity
* Partners with ISC to generate and qualify ideas leading to lower cost products from existing suppliers

Requirements:

* Mechanical or electrical engineering BSc degree or higher
* 3 to 5 years experience in the design and development of automotive standard mechatronic devices
* Multi-lingual ability in English with French,German an advantage
* A working knowledge of DC motors and their control, automotive electronics, instrumentation and a "hands-on" test capability in addition to a basic knowledge of internal combustion engines and turbochargers would be an advantage.

* A combination of strong team working and team player, plus the ability for self motivation and independance is needed. The global location and multicultural nature of the team, coupled with remote supervision, requires a person with a global mindset and the ability to establish effective working relationships with remotely located team members.
