| Description: | Center for Information Biology and DNA Data Bank of Japan (CIB-DDBJ) was established to meet the needs of researchers in Japan involved in the establishment of the newly developing research area of bioinformatics. It is generally accepted that research in biology today requires the use of information science and computers for experimental design and data analysis. This is particularly true with biological information such as DNA sequence data which is accumulating at a great rate. Analysis of such data using computers is becoming more essential and CIB-DDBJ will play an important role in initiating activities in information biology in Japan and abroad. |
