Description:
The Czech Fleckvieh Breeders Association, with its headquarters in Prague, was founded in September 1990 as a representative organization for Czech Fleckvieh cattle breeders all over the Czech Republic. In 1994 the association received permission from the Czech Ministry of Agriculture to create and administer a Herd Book for the Czech Fleckvieh cattle breed. The Herd Book has been available and functioning since 1995, when the Association took responsibility for planning and implementation of the breeding program. The rules and way of operating of the Association were incorporated into the Law controlling the breeding of farm animals in 2001.
The Association of breeders has 238 regular members who are active breeders who enjoy all of the privileges offered by the Association, and 79 associated members who have an advisory vote. The animal registration into the Herd Book is independent on the membership in the Association and the Association provides equal service to all the breeders of Fleckvieh breed.
