Summary: An Andalusian University has developed an in vitro model using explants from ventricular walls which emulates a periventricular neuro degeneration by congenital hydrocephalus involving astrocytic reaction. This vitromodel in three dimensions allows a controlled study. The in vitro model is capable of maintaining the cellular interactions between neurons, glial cells, ependymal cells, endothelial cells, etc. The University is interested in licensing agreements.
