'Community Genetics' is a unique international forum for research in the expanding field of community genetics, an area of medical care responding to the explosion of developments in human genetics which impact both the individual and society. Community genetics services involve activities such as genetic screening, routine preconceptional and prenatal consultation, registration of genetic and congenital anomalies, and public education on genetic and related ethical issues. The journal ‘Community Genetics’ is multidisciplinary in scope, covering medical genetics, epidemiology, primary care, community medicine and public health genetics, and also includes psychological, social, legal and ethical aspects. Aiming to improve the dialogue between researchers, practitioners and lay members of the community, the journal features original research papers, reviews, case reports, commentaries and short communications, as well as news, opinion, correspondence, and journal club sections.
