Hague, Netherland (August, 20-24, 2012)
Since 1997, a triennial scientific conference has been organised under the auspices of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI): the European Academy of Forensic Science (EAFS) Conference. The conference is open not only to the ENFSI community, but to all those who have an interest in forensic sciences. Previous conferences have been held in Lausanne (1997), Krakow (2000), Istanbul (2003), Helsinki (2006) and Glasgow (2009).
EAFS2012, the 6th edition in this series, will be held in The Hague and is hosted by the Netherlands Forensic Institute (NFI). EAFS2012 has a number of features, such as a focus on current multidisciplinary themes, a distinct interactive character, excursions to prestigious International Institutions based in The Hague and communication through social media. Furthermore, a forensic poet - who will attend EAFS2012 - has a surprise in store for the participants.
The title "Towards Forensic Science 2.0" emphasises that the participants will be challenged to take an active role in outlining the future of forensic science. Outstanding keynote speakers and eminent scientists will provide the materials for this exercise.
The conference will also offer a platform through which participants can extend their personal networks. We offer a large exhibition space with various sponsor displays. Delegates as well as accompanying persons will be offered an attractive social and partner program.
